Every single web designer has their own tried and true method for compressing images for the web. I was reminded of this yesterday when I exported a large background image out of Photoshop using the Save For Web feature as I normally do. It was a complicated image so I decided to check the file size and was shocked to see it was nearly 1.5 MB in size. Massively less than ideal for a web image! This reminded me why I used to always use Fireworks – it’s just so much better at making web images it’s sort of ridiculous.
