If you’re anything like me, the first thing you do when setting up a WooCommerce store is to figure out which payment processor I’m going to use. PayPal has never been my first choice (for a myriad of reasons I won’t go into here), however I’ve used the Stripe WooCommerce plugin quite a few times now and it has become my go-to payment processing solution for WooCommerce.
The Stripe plugin is simple to set-up, easy for customers to use and creating a Stripe account and linking your bank account is completely painless. In comparison, I’ve never successfully linked my bank account and PayPal and none of my 5 support requests have been answered.
My only issue has been the high cost of the Stripe plugin (between $79 and $199). But now that issue is completely moot – the official Stripe plugin is now totally free! You can get Stripe’s convenience and ease of use on your WooCommerce store without any extra cost.
No word on when, or if ,any other payment processors will be following suit.
